Example 14 Solution

First we need to find the force of gravity at a height h above the surface of the Earth.

Then use Newton's Second Law and set the force above equal to the mass of the person and the acceleration due to gravtiy on top of Everest.

Now we multiply the bottom out and factor out a so that we can substitute g into the equation.
