WOIS --What in the World is Wois?         www.wois.org

(the site key number is available in the Career Center,  along with the * user name and passwords for individual Portfolios)

At Wenatchee High School our previous freshman English students, those graduating in 2010, 2011, or 2012, took part in a career unit which was taught by the Wenatchee High School Counselors.  While in this unit students set up a *WOIS Electronic Portfolio.  After their WOIS Electronic Portfolio was created the students took an assessment--the Career Interest Area Activity. The assessment provides students with personal, specific career pathway identification.

NOTE:   For the classes of 2010, 2011, and 2012, the Career Interest Area Acitivity is required as an artifact for their Culminating Project.  If a student does not have a complete Career Interest Area Activity, follow these instructions to complete one.   Career Interest Area Activity Instructions.

Beginning with the class of  2013, the freshman will not be required to complete the Career Interest Area Activity for Culminating Project.  The class of 2013 will be required to complete the WOIS Interest Profiler in their junior year. This will be required for their Culminating Project.

At Wenatchee High School we feel that it is very important for students to identify their strengths, skills, interests and values so that they may identify which 5th Year Option is most appropriate for them.  There are several WOIS assessments that could be taken to help in this discovery.

We encourage students to use the WOIS site and Electronic Portfolio to create their own resumé.  By entering school and community activities, honors, awards, community service, as they go through their high school years they reduce the likelihood of forgetting an activity.

Students are also asked to create a Portfolio and complete a Job Resumé for Culminating Project.

Below you will find the instructions for achieving this.  (their are other resources available for completing a resumé in block # 10--Job, Activities & Insight Resumés-- of the WHS Money Book)
