SCHOLARSHIP LISTING SHEET (4)
- You will notice that some scholarships listed in The Money Book, have a CC (Career Center) behind them:
- The scholarships listed with a CC will appear in "The Box" in the Career Center sometime during the year. Applications are generally available for
4-6 weeks prior to their deadline. When you are listing scholarships you are eligible for, put those with a CC, on side one of the blue listing sheet.
- Those scholarships without a CC or web address listed, are offering you contact information or online access. Write them on the reverse side of the Blue Scholarship Listing sheet. Make note of the due date and write it on your Blue Scholarship Listing so that you may proceed with the application at the appropriate time. Include the contact information so that you have it easily available. (Side 2)
- NEXT: The list that you have just completed should be given to the Career Center personnel. We will keep the 'masters' in the MONEY BOOK notebook in the Career Center and make a copy of the list for you to use. Keep it in a school binder so that you may refer back to it. Making a weekly, habitual check for new scholarship postings, against your list, is suggested.
- IMPORTANT: With your copy of the list in hand, you will compare the scholarships that you have listed on Side One (cc), with those that appear in The Bulletin, on The Bulletin Board and in The Box. The Three B's (all located in or near the Career Center)
- (cc) Scholarships will simultaneously be posted in The Bulletin (for the first week of posting), on The Bulletin Board (four to six weeks prior to the deadline) and in The Box (four to six weeks prior to the deadline).
- LAST: Once you have received the scholarship application, follow the instructions carefully. If the scholarship does not have a checklist, it is suggested that you form your own checklist. This may be easily done by highlighting the elements that are required for that application packet.
- CRITICAL: Each scholarship is written differently and has different requirements. Check your packet of materials against the checklist before you mail it! Incomplete packets will disqualify you 95% of the time.
Ask your counselor or Career Center secretary if you have questions about procedures or just general questions.
