Adult Page

"I think it's wrong, and I don't think the quality of any person should be judged by a test." - Tim Seguin, WHS Class of 2008

You've found the adult page!  If you're under 18, please click here.  If you're over 18 (or just curious), this page is intended to give you a quick summary of and rationale for this Webquest.

Introduction - This is where students will find a brief rationale for the site.  The primary reason for the creation of this Webquest is that I have not been able to find any clear, comprehensive, and easily navigable WASL information resources collected especially for students.  I hope this site begins to fill this gap.

Task - This page outlines the process for the students.  The only equipment required for the completion of this task is a networked computer with Internet access, and a printer if you care to have hard copies of any of the documents.

Process - These four pages walk the student through the essential questions of the Webquest, and contain numerous embedded links to a variety of resources.

Evaluation - This is really intended as a self-evaluation, but teachers could use it as a starting point for class discussions if so desired.  One thing's for sure: students will have strong opinions on this topic!  In time, I'd like to work up a little quiz to go along with this project.  Care to help me do that?

Conclusion - The emphasis here is that students should arm themselves with as much information as possible.  All too often we throw assessments at kids--particularly state-mandated assessments--without providing any rationale, context, or purpose.  In this sense, this Webquest is designed to help adults as well as students.

References - These are by no means all of the WASL resources out there--just the most accessible and/or comprehensive.  Remind yourself and your students that the WASL and graduation requirement rules are currently undergoing changes, so you'll have to check back for updates.

Credits - These are the people that helped me do this.
