Evaluation: Where do I stand?

"I think it's okay because we have to know certain things in order to graduate, and if you don't do it people might graduate not knowing anything." - Elizabeth Mendoza, WHS Class of 2008

Take a moment to consider the essential questions of this Webquest.  Remember: ultimately you are going to be the person who determines the quality of the experience!

MET STANDARD!

Congrats!  You'll enjoy the piece of mind that goes with knowing you've prepared yourself as well as possible.

APPROACHING STANDARD

You're getting there, but you will want to go back and review some more of the material until you feel more comfortable.

RETAKE

Go back to the start and try again.

Why are you required to take the WASL?

It's a state law, and it will help me focus on the basic skills I need to be successful in any path I choose in life.
Apparently it's some kind of a law, and I want to graduate.
What's a WASL?

What is tested on the WASL?

Essential Learnings (EALRs and GLEs) in Math, Reading, and Writing.  Science is coming in 2010!
Math, reading, and writing.
We have to take a test?

What are some helpful hints for success?

Get all the information I can, and access as many resources as possible.  I want to know what's coming!
I'll check out a couple of Web sites and ask my teachers what I need to do.
I'll wing it and hope for the best.

What happens if you fail to meet standard?

I'm not worried, because I know I'll have other options, like retake opportunities and even possible alternative assessments!
I don't know!  It seems like they keep changing the rules!
My hopes and dreams are crushed.
