Education: I have Administrative Credentials in Special Education Program Director and Principal, a Master's in Special Education, and a Vocational Certificate in Diversified Occupations and Work Based Learning Coordinator from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA. I earned my Associate of Applied Science in Medical Technology from Wenatchee Valley College in Wenatchee, WA. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Cal State University in Los Angeles, CA. |
Philosophy: I believe that all students have a right to receive an education and be taught in a way that they can learn. Students must be provided with encouragement, respect, and the tools needed to become self advocates in order to be successful in the future. If given the chance, all students, regardless of background, bring wisdom and desire to be the best that they can be. |
|
Current Teaching Assignment: I currently teach Applied Communications-9th, Applied Communications-10/11, Applied Communications-12th, and Independent Skills Lab. I also work with 17 Vocational teachers to provide options for special education students to explore and acquire skills needed for post school options. In my classroom the emphasis is on student driven instruction and self-determination. Students create resource portfolios which they will take with them when they graduate form the high school. |
