Our Program

This class runs a Recycling project that is a major work-skill training site. Approximately fifteen special education students are participating in our recycling project this year. It has been in existence for ten years. Sixty classrooms and twenty-two offices participate in the project by housing a recycle box. There are also ten other schools in the District who contribute materials, including the Wenatchee School District Administration office and warehouse.

The students gather all types of paper and aluminum cans within the school.the products to the vendor.

The students who work in the project are gaining specific work skills, and team-work skills for their vocational training. This is a first step for the students before getting a work site in the community.

The money earned from the project is used for two major projects during the school year. The students prepare and serve meals to their parents, staff and community members as a thank-you for their support throughout the year.

Recycle It!

Students apply skills learned to manage a recycling program. Students spend their time collecting boxes, removing staples, sorting, shredding, and working together to reach their goals.
