Respiratory System |
| -The respiratory system supplies the blood with oxygen so that the blood can deliver the oxygen to all the parts of the body. -When we breathe we inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. -The diaphragm's job is to pump the carbon dioxide out of the lungs and helps to pull oxygen in.
THE STEPS 1. Oxygen enters the body when we breathe through our mouth and nose 2. The oxygen then goes through the trachea which leads to the chest cavity. 3. The trachea splits into two smaller tubes called Bronchi. 4. Each bronchus splits into bronchial tubes. 5. These tubes lead directly to the lungs. 6. When they reach the lungs they divide again into many more tubes which connect to little air sacs called alveoli. *An adult lung has 600 million of these spngy air filled sacs that are surrounded by blood vessels. 7. The oxygen passes through the alveoli into the capillaries (blood vessels) which then take it all over your body 8. The carbon dioxide in the blood vessels diffuses into the little sacs of air and goes back into lungs which then go out your body |
