Course Description:
This semester-long senior course is a study of the Greek, Roman and Norse mythologies. It focuses on how a mythology reflects the culture of the people and offers a rational explanation of natural and scientific phemonena. The class concerns itself with the god structures, stories and ideas expressed in these mythologies. Common motifs and themes are identified, and students will make connections between myths and modern society.
