Project:Invasive Plant Species, Japanese Knotweed
Contact Name: Rob Dalton (rdalton@naselle.wednet.edu)
School: Naselle High School
Date Completed: Fall 2006
Details: Two students sat at desks and spoke about the invasive plant species, Japanese Knotweed. They used very few, if any notes and were very knowledgeable about the subject. They focussed on how spraying herbicides to get rid of the knotweed can effect human health, and their research about how to prevent human health effects while still getting rid of the weed. They found out that injecting insecticide into the stem of the plant was the safest and most effective way known so far.
