Project: Sewage and the affect on shellfish

Contact Name: Brian Ducker (BDucker@sheltonschools.org)

School: Shelton High School

Date Completed: Fall 2003

Details:

After several problems with their connections to the conference and their equipment, this group of three students improvised and provided a very complete presentation about the possible effects of an extension of a sewage pipe from the expanding Alderbrook Resort into Hood Canal. The group was curious as to whether an extension would adversely affect the shellfish in that area of the canal (and the people who eat the shellfish). They couldn't get their PowerPoint to hook directly into the system, so the students focused the camera on the notebook computer's screen, which worked.
