Project: Water Quality Issues in the Okanagon River

Contact Name: Matt Deebach (mdeebach@tonasket.wednet.edu)

School: Tonasket High School

Date Completed: Winter 2003-04

Details: A group of 12 agriculture students used a PowerPoint slide show to present their findings on water quality issues in the Okanagon River. The students were concerned about the quality of the water in the river since it is such a part of their lives, yet they also wanted to address whether or not agriculture really is a source of pollution in the river, as is claimed by many. Their presentation included their plan for original water testing, a description of the testing methods, the results of their tests and their conclusion.
