Nigel Hunter is in his 1st year teaching at WHS. Hunter has a BA in History from George Fox University and earned his Secondary Education Social Studies teaching certificate from Western Governor's University. Hunter is in his 2nd year as the Girl's Soccer coach at WHS and has worked in public schools in San Francisco, CA and Wilsonville, OR. He and his wife Nicole have a new son and enjoy golf, the outdoors, and their family.

Scott Benner is in his 26th year teaching at WHS. Benner went to Mt. Rainer High School and spent two years at Highline Community College. He received his BA in History and Teaching at Seattle Pacific University. Benner earned his Masters from Central Washington University. He teaches Contemporary World Problems (CWP), Honors CWP, and Citizen Washington. His hobbies include puns, reading, biking, walking, watching sports, history, golf, baseball, and basketball. Benner has two sons, Marcus who is 22 and Thomas who is 20. He also works in the WHS athletic department.

James Elwyn is in his 8th year at WHS. He currently teaches US history, Psychology, and CWP. Mr. Elwyn previously taught at Wenatchee Valley College, Tooele High School, and Salt Lake Community College. He recieved his Masters degree from Montclair State University and his BA from Pacific Lutheran University. Elwyn enjoys spending time with his wife, a WHS graduate, and his three kids, Kayli (9), Connor(6) and Austin(3). Mr. Elwyn is the girls and boys swimming coach here at WHS.

Brian Lee is in his 1st year teaching at WHS. He completed is student teachings at WHS in spring 2006. Mr Lee spent the 2006-2007 school year as a substitute throughout the Wenatchee School District. He was the Citizen Washington teacher during the summer of 2007 at WHS. Mr. Lee has also been a snowboard instructor at Stevens Pass, Mount Hood Meadows, and Mount Baker Ski Areas. Mr. Lee graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, Colorado in 1991. He recieved his BA from Western State College of Colorado in Recreation with a Ski Resort Management Emphasis in 1996. He recieved a second BA in Social Studies Education from Central Washingotn Univeristy in 2006. In his free time, Mr. Lee loves to snowboard, wakeboard, hike, and read. Mr. Lee teaches Contemporary World Problems and Online Citizen Washington.

David (Jags) Jagla graduated from WHS in 1988, WVC in 1990, and CWU in 1994. He has a Masters in Education and is completing a Masters in Administration. He coaches wrestling, and football. He enjoys spending his freetime with family and friends. An accomplished golfer, Jags has his eyes set on joining the champions tour upon turning 50.

Brandon Harle is in his 5th year teaching at WHS. From 2001-2005 he taught in the WHS Business Education Department. 2006-2007 Mr. Harle tought Social Studies at Chelan High School. Prior to teaching at WHS, Mr. Harle was the Wenatchee School District Truancy Officer and substitute taught in several schools in the district. He graduated from WHS in 1993 before graduating Wenatchee Valley College in 1995 with an AA Degree. Mr. Harle completed his BA from Central Washington University in Social Studies/History in 1998. He completed a MAEd in Educational Technology from City University and is currently working towards his second master's degree in Strategic Intelligence and Terrorist Studies. Mr Harle is an assistant football coach at WHS as well as the Senior Class Advisor. He teaches CWP, Citizen Washington, World History, and Online United States History. In his free time he loves spending time with his wife, Karissa, and two kids, Olivia and Owen.

Malia Renner-Singer is in her 3rd year teaching at Wenatchee High School and
teaches U.S. History and American Studies. Renner-Singer graduated from
Olympia High School. She recieved her BA in History through Whitman
College and her Masters in Curriculum Design from Eastern Washington
University. Before becoming a Panther, she taught for four years at
Walla Walla High School. Her life outside of school is centered on her

Tom Wright is in his 20th year teaching at Wenatchee High School. Wright's educational background includes graduating from Aberdeen High School and attending Gray's Harbor Community College. He also attended Central Washington University, where he earned four BA's in Political Science, Economics, History, and English. In his spare time Wright enjoys hunting, fishing, reading, playing the stock market, and following the successes and travails of the racehorses in which he has a 10% share.

Jay Young is in his 30th year teaching at WHS. Young has a BA in political science and a minor in economics from Pacific Lutheran University. Young has done advanced work at the University of Hawaii. Hobbies include computers, reading and bowling. Young is a technology resource trainer for the Wenatchee school district and has received state grants for his work in computers from OSPI and US West. He is also the Assistant Coach for the WHS Girls Bowling Team.

Vince Thur is in his 4th year here at WHS and is teaching History. Thur has a Bachelors in Social Sciences, and Education from Eastern Washington University. He also has his Masters in Latin American and US History also from Eastern. Prior to teaching here at WHS he taught English and History at Orchard Middle School, and he is beginning his 16th year of teaching at Wenatchee Valley College, teaching Education, Geography, Political Science, US History, and Western Civilization. Thur has 1 daughter, a Junior at Eastern Washington University. Thur was chosen for Whose Who in American Teachers and was an invited guest to Oxford University in 2000 and 2002 and 2004. Mr. Thur enjoys running and traveling, he lived in Japan for 4 years, taught in Guatamala for 1 year and has traveled through Europe, Central America, the Carribbean, and the USA.
