L.G.I. HISTORY:
When this building was designed in the late 1960's, departments were asked what
their needs were. Science requested a lyceum type room where many classrooms
could collaborate on demonstrations, information, presentations, video viewing,
and the like. It is designed for Large Group Instruction (L.G.I.). The school
was complete and students moved in in 1972-1973.
The Math department was included for the same reasons and close ties to Science.
It was very clear that any other department would be welcome to share this great
facility.
Since the beginning, the Science department has had the responsibility to schedule
the LGI during the normal school day. Any use before the normal day (before 1st
period) or after (beyond 3:00) is the responsibility of the facilities Auditorium
Manager.
Trivia ... can you find the location where a stairway to the Math office was
covered up with drywall?
Capacity ... 84 Seats, 7 long tables/rows with 12 fixed seats per table. Each
row is elevated. It holds 3 classes of 28 students
