Ohme Gardens

On a high, rocky bluff, just three miles north of Wenatchee, sits
one of the most famous alpine gardens in America. Ohme Gardens is the
achievement of over sixty years work by the Ohme family. They
transformed the once dry and desolate hill into nine acres of lush
beauty. There are winding paths lined with beautiful flowers for
visitors to follow to calm, clear pools surrounded by lovely alpine
ground cover. The Gardens themselves are surrounded by tall, majestic
evergreen trees. Ohme Gardens also offers visitors a sweeping view of
the Wenatchee Valley, Columbia River, and the Cascade Mountains. Ohme
Gardens is open to visitors daily from April 15 through October 15.
Spring and Fall hours 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Summer hours 9:00
a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Admission Fee. Come, relax and enjoy the splendor
of Ohme Gardens!
WHS WEB SITE HISTORICAL NOTE: This
page and the 4 web pages that go with it are first few pages created
for our web site in 1994. While they may not be pretty or flashy they
do hold some senimental value for me (Gary Lorenson) as they were
created by the co-founder of the WHS web site, student Andy Largent.
So... I'm keeping them in! ...GL
