Creating your EGP Website

Note: The screen shots provided below are from Apple's OS X operating system. However, the process for posting your grades with Easy Grade Pro is the same for OS 9 and OS X users. The windows look a little different, but the process is very similar. Any important differences are noted within the steps.
Be sure to follow all the steps to the bottom. Have fun!
Step 1: Contact your TRT when you are ready to post your grades on the WHS web site - Before you log on to the server you need to have your password. Contact your (usually) friendly TRT and he/she will provide the necessary information.
How may I help you?
Step 2: Connect to the "whs.wsd.wednet.edu" server (OS 9 Users: You need to access this step through the Chooser, then click on the "IP server address" button and enter "whs.wsd.wednet.edu." Consider updating to OS X) In OS X, click "Go" on the file menu at the top of the screen. Select "Connect to Server..."
Step 3: Enter "whs.wsd.wednet.edu" in the Address window Then click "Connect." If you're using OS 10.3, it will look a little different. Don't worry! Just enter the information in the "Server Address" window.

Step 4: Log on to the server Enter your last name and password (as provided by your TRT). Click "Connect."

Step 5: Highlight "Faculty" and click "OK."

Step 6: You are now connected to the faculty web server Just leave the "Faculty" icon on your desktop. You access through Easy Grade Pro (Step 13).

Step 7: Open your gradebook - Now you are ready to create your website. Open your updated EGP gradebook.

Step 8: Student passwords - At this point, make sure all of your students have passwords. EGP will not create reports for students without passwords. You can check/add passwords by clicking on the "Student" tab as seen in the figure below. Passwords must be a minimum of six characters (6-10 letters and/or numbers recommended), must not contain any symbols, and are not case sensitive. If you have entered passwords, proceed to the next step. If not, quit the process and enter the passwords before continuing.

Step 9: Click the Internet Reports command - There are two ways to do this. On your toolbar you can click the little blue <i> icon...

...or you can access the command through the File menu at the top of the screen.

Step 10: Select your reports - You will then see the "Internet Reports" window pop up. It is recommended that you select "Multi-class Website Reports." This will make report access much easier for parents. You should also enter your name in the "Teacher" window. When you are done, click "Next."

Step 11: Set your report options - This is where you customize your reports. The process is almost exactly the same as creating printed reports. You can select which classes you want to post online, write a text greeting under "Main Page Text," enter an email link, change the colors of the reports, and choose to include only the information you wish. Once you set these preferences, the information will be saved and you won't have to worry about them again (unless you want to). When you are all done setting your report options, click "Create."

Step 12: The warning window - This window serves to remind you that you are about to save your files. Click "Yes."

Step 13: Save your web site - In the "Save As" window, you will see that the default name for the main link page is "index.html." Do not change this file name. Then, in the "Where" window, find and select the "Faculty" server icon and then find the "Your last name" folder. When you are ready, click "Save." A progress window will confirm that your reports are being created and saved. Once you do this EGP will remember the file name and the place you are saving your reports. Unless you move things around, you'll never have to worry about doing anything other than clicking "Save." Just make sure you log on to the "Faculty" server (Step One) before you start the process.

Step 14: You're done! Go ahead and close everything, then open your browser and check to see that everything works. Your web address is <http://whs.wsd.wednet.edu/Faculty/Yourlastname
