1. SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol Server. This tells your software the name of your email server that sends your email messages to the Internet.

2. POP - Post Office Protocol Server. This is the mail server that receives all of the email sent to you and puts it into your IN BOX. Our SMTP and POP servers are the same.

- Mail Server
- POP Server
- Account Type (POP)
- OUR pop EXAMPLE:
- mail3.wsd.wednet.edu
3. Account Name. Not YOUR name, this is the name that was given to you for the first part of your email address. In our district, it is always the same protocol: last name.first initial.
QuickMail Pro uses:
- POP Account
Other names to look for are:
- User Name
- Outgoing User Name
- Account I.D.
- OUR account EXAMPLE:
- lorenson.g
4. Email Address - This is the whole thing. Sometimes you might need to fill in:

- Return Address
- Account Address
- OUR address EXAMPLE:

That's all of the information that you will need to be able to configure almost any software that allows you to send and receive email on the Internet. The last consideration that you need to understand is whether or not to leave your email on the server.
