ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

The Wenatchee High School commitment is to see that every student has the opportunity to reach their highest level of performance. We, at the Foundation, support this commitment and are determined to provide financial help for touring debate teams and other academic excellence programs. We also support the tremendous opportunity for members of the Wenatchee community to get involved with mentoring programs and various programs that spur our students on to academic excellence.

Social Studies teacher Scott Benner works with his 3rd period Citizen Washington class. Teachers at WHS provide a safe and effective learning environment for their students while keeping the students interested in classwork.

Camille Johnson and Tom Bugert, freshmen, take notes at a debate tournament at Gonzaga University. Debate offers a chance to help students speak in front of groups easier, as well as improving writing abilities.

Katrina Griffith and Amber McCurdy, seniors, look over a packet on Washington State Government. Students often are allowed to work in groups on more difficult projects in order to accelerate learning.
