THE ARTS

Wenatchee High School has a strong and rich arts heritage, including music, drama, and visual arts. WHS Facilities are available for community performing arts, as well as WHS programs. Studies show that communities with a rich, cultural base also have a long-term economic stability. We believe the performing arts are integral to everyone's personal well-being, along with paving the way for a healthy economic structure.

Choral director Dan Jackson works with the Chamber Singers on a new song for their spring tour. The Chamber Singers will be traveling to the east coast for their annual tour this year over Spring Break.

Kat Salomonson and Michelle Slonaker work on a project for Mr. Collin's art class. The teachers in the department teach modern art concepts as well as classic ones. Students find the work challenging yet still fun. Many students interested in art enroll in several art classes at one time.

Laura Cornwall plays a "Les Misarables" medley for the Bel Canto choir. The choirs put on a Broadway Bound concert made up of solos and small groups. The production took stage on Feb. 28.
