I hope everyone enjoyed their spring vacation time with family and friends.
It's always nice to have a short break before getting geared up for the rest of the school year.
This time of year becomes very busy around panther athletics as we are keeping up with our spring sports as well as gearing up for next year.
Here are a few items that are important....

Spring Sports / Senior Awards Night - Tuesday June 5th - 6:30 pm @ WHS Main Gym. This is not only our culminating event for our spring sports, it is also the evening that we recognize many seniors for an excellent Career. We will induct seniors into the Gold, Platinum and Diamond Club, give out our Panther Best Awards and recognize our spring sport athletes that earned all league, participated in State, academic success, etc. We begin at 6:30pm and can hopefully allow you to break off into your individual sport award nights by 7:15. We provide cookies, punch and coffee.

Fall Sports Clearance / Summer Sports Clearance - If your son/daughter has participated this school year (2006-07) their "clearance" will expire at the end of the spring sports season. As of May 29th, 2007, your son/daughter will no longer be cleared to participate in a school sponsored athletic activity without being "cleared". Clearance includes : 1. Copy of Sports Physical (these are good for 13 months so yours may still be good). 2. Updated emergency / insurance information 3. Purchase of an ASB Card $25 and Sports Fee $3.00 per sport. 4. Sport Guidelines signed for each sport you participate. 5. If you are a 1st year panther, a signed copy of the athletic code of conduct. If your son/daughter plans to participate in any of our summer school sponsored programs, he/she will need to clear prior to June 14th as our office will close for the summer. If you son/daughter does not plan to participate in any summer programs, you can wait until the next school year to clear. Current summer programs include (but are not limited to: Weight Lifting, Football Camp, Cross Country Camp, Girls Soccer Camp, Wrestling Open Gym, Girls Basketball Open Gym, Boys Basketball Open Gym, and possibly a volleyball open gym. Our office is ready and willing to collect your clearance information for the 2007-08 school year beginning May 14 and we will stop on June 14th. We will begin again on or about August 6, 2007. For the first time, this upcoming year, you can clear for all sports at 1 time. If your son/daughter participates in multiple sports, you can clear for all of them at 1 time. Booster Club : We are wrapping up our business for the 06-07 school year and beginning to plan for the 07-08 school year. Many of you have stepped up and shared that you are willing to be on the board of directors and/or help in an area of interest. Booster Club continues to have a couple of board positions without anyone showing an interest. If you are interested, please let Kate Bratrude ( bratrude@charter.net ) or myself know ASAP. Those positions that remain open are : Vice President and Membership. We are also looking for some concession stand leads and sport reps for the year.
