This fall, Wenatchee High School will be celebrating the 100th year of Panther football. To help commemorate this milestone, we will be honoring one of the greatest contributors to the success and tradition of the program, Coach Lee Bofto.
A special tribute will be made to Coach Bofto on September 23, 2005 at the Panther football game against Richland. Mark your calendars and plan on attending. At that time, a new scoreboard honoring Coach Bofto will be unveiled.
Our challenge is to raise the funds to pay for that scoreboard. Approximately $40,000 is needed and we have to move fast.
Thus, we are asking everyone who has had their lives touched by Coach Bofto and the traditions of Panther football to make a
donation in his honor.
While we expect many donors to be non-alumni, we are adding a little class competition to this fund-raising effort.
Thus, there will be “recognition” space on the scoreboard pillars for the senior class raising the most money for the
scoreboard, and for the senior class with the greatest number of contributors. Depending upon the level
of giving, the names of individual donors will also be identified.
So the challenge has been made. We can honor Coach Bofto, do something great for the Apple Bowl
and ignite our Panther spirit by contributing to this worthy cause. Please fill out the enclosed form and
make your donation today..
Also include a simple handwritten note or card to Coach Bofto if you would like to add a special touch. We’ll
present them all to him on September 23. See you there.
