This portion of the site contains information on scholarships available to Wenatchee High School students who will be entering post-high school education or training.  Most scholarships listed are for seniors. If they are open to other grade levels, they will be posted as such. Scholarships are varied, just as the applicants who apply for them are. The only way you will guarantee that you don't get  a scholarship, is to not apply!

ABOUT THE MONEY BOOK

The Money Book is a collection of scholarships, local and regional, plus national scholarships.

We encourage students to concentrate their efforts on local and regional scholarships:

Online through the WHS Website:  whs.wsd.wednet.edu, then either through Information, Departments, Counselling

When scanning through the Money Book, we suggest that you keep the following in mind:

  1. The local and regional scholarships are those inwhich we believe students will generally have the most success.
  2. Rather than competing with thousands of students, you will reduce the numbers you are competing against.
  3. Those on the local scholarship committees may actually know you, and be aware of your school and community involvement. 
  4. You will be more likely to have references who are known to the scholarship committee members--They may be contacted for input. 
  5. The national scholarships we most highly encourage, are those which have a local branch, such as Ford, Target, Kiwanis, etc.
  6. One of the most important resources for scholarships is the college website for which you plan to apply/attend.   Remember:  The cost of college is not concrete.   They will make offers to you regarding need, talents, academics etc.
  7. Other scholarship resources to scour are employers, civic groups, organizations that you or your parents belong to. We have included some of these in our Money Book, others may be accessible only through the group or employer, etc.
